I wanted to show you guys what the Easy Tee Raglan version looks like with 3/4 length sleeves, so I made this top. I used a pretty mint colored knit for the back and sleeves, then stamped stars on a plain white knit for the front. I actually used a homemade potato stamp for the stars (I found a super easy method of using cookie cutters to make potato stamps) and it worked great. I love the fit of these raglan tees – they have a little nicer fit than the original easy tee, but they’re still a very easy sew.

If you’d like to make a 3/4 length sleeve tee out of all the same fabric, you’ll need more than the 1 yard of fabric I’ve used for all of my short sleeve versions. I was able to cut the sleeves and back out of one yard of mint knit, then just used some extra white knit for the front. Here’s how my pieces looked cut out (front piece not shown):
I assembled the shirt the same way I did in the Raglan sleeve version, except for finishing the sleeves. Instead of turning them up and hemming I added a sleeve cuff (find tutorial for that here). I also cut the back of the shirt a little longer than the front, sort of like I did in the lace front version.
And here’s the easiest-ever way to make potato stamps:
I used a foam brush to paint on acrylic paint mixed with fabric medium, then stamped onto my white fabric. It worked really well, and I love that I can make a stamp in any shape I can find a cookie cutter in.

I love a good raglan tee! This tutorial seems right up my alley but I have one question, can this be done with a spaghetti strap tank top? I’ve got this really cute floral one that I wear under sheer shirts but I think it would be adorable as a raglan tee with grey sleeves. I’m determined to make it work, any tips you can give me??

This is exactly what I needed! I’m making a hoodie but could’nt find a pattern I liked. I found how to make and sew on the hood on another site and now I found how to make the raglan sleeve I want. I’m going to make my hoodie out of brown minky fabric with a 7 inch teal zipper, a narrow teal bias binding to the bottom, at the end of the sleeves and around the hood. Then I’m going to use the bias binding (so the color matches) to make a thin piping to sew into the the seams of the sleeves and the back seam of the hood. It’s going to loom great!

Sounds awesome! I love teal and brown together. Good luck!
