Hi! Welcome to the new and improved It’s Always Autumn. Readership has grown quite a bit since I started this blog a year and a half ago, and it was time to make some changes. We have a new logo, a new site design, and a new flickr group where readers can share the things they’ve made inspired by tutorials here on It’s Always Autumn.
I’ve been pretty busy the past few weeks trying to get the new site ready. So busy, in fact, that I forgot to call my little sisters on their birthday Monday. Oops. Of course, I can’t tell them that’s why I didn’t call them, because how lame does this sound: “I’m sorry I missed your birthday. I was too busy matching the color of my logo to my social links buttons on my sidebar…” Maybe I can come up with a better excuse, something involving being too ill to lift my phone. I’m still working on it.
Anyway, I’m still working on the new site, as well, but I decided it’s far enough along to make the switch. All the tutorials you’ve seen on It’s Always Autumn are here on the new site and you can access them using the nifty menu bar at the top. The sewing, photography, and recipes categories are still there. Crafts are now listed under DIY and there are separate tabs for printables and kid fun.
I’m pretty excited about the new flickr group – you can use the link on the mint colored menu bar above to click over and share your own spin on any of the tutorials you found here. A few of you have already emailed me photos of projects you’ve completed and it’s been so much fun to see them! I’m planning on doing some reader projects roundup posts so I can share what you’re doing with all our readers. So please, please, please! take pictures of the things you make and start uploading them to our flickr group.
I’m sure there will be a few kinks in the new design – feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns or leave a comment letting me know what you think of the new look. I’ll be back on Saturday with a sewing post. Thanks for dropping by!
