Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Melt butter. Stir cake mix, butter, eggs, and almond extract together until combined.
Allow dough to rest 10 minutes (optional, but helps cookies look better).
Use 1.5 tablespoon scoop (slightly underfilled), and scoop dough onto a lightly greased cookie sheet.
Bake 9-10 minutes until edges are just set and tops have cracked. Cool 5-10 minutes on the cookie sheet before removing.
Allow cookies to cool completely before frosting.
