Remove the front cover of the book. Fold the first page diagonally from the top right corner, meeting up with the spine of the book. Fold the same page down diagonally again, creasing well.
Fold the bottom flap that overhangs the book and tuck it inside the page you just folded.
Repeat about 75 times until you have created a cone shape. Use an exacto knife to cut away the remaining pages.
Paint the cone orange and allow to dry.
Cut an extra book page in half lengthwise. Fold each half in half, then in thirds, to create long rectangles for arms. Paint them orange as well.
Glue the wood ball on top of the cone. Also glue the arms in near the top in between pages. The arms should be slightly angled downward.
Download the Witch Hat Pattern and cut out the pieces from black felt. Fold the triangle piece as shown, then place hot glue on the flap. Fold the flap down and hold until the glue cools. This creates the top cone portion of the hat. Glue it onto the donut piece to complete the witch's hat.
Make a broomstick from a twig and some twine (or purchase a broomstick).
Complete the witch by trimming the arms slightly and tucking them between folds of the book, gluing on the hat, and gluing on the broomstick. Tie a ribbon around the neck and add any other decorations you desire.
