DIY Folded Book Vase

Learn how to transform an old hardback book into a beautiful vase for a floral arrangement! This is an easy craft for adults you can complete in under half an hour.

Instructions

  • Start by finding the center of the book and opening it wide to crease the spine. Then repeat the process in ten page intervals for fifty pages to the right and left of the center. This will help the book stay open.

  • Grab 50 numbered pages to the right of center and 50 numbered pages to the left of center. This is the chunk of pages that will create the vase. Starting at the beginning of the chunk, measure halfway up the page. Use an exacto knife or scissors to cut through a few pages at a time.

  • Tear out the top half of the pages in the chunk.

  • Add adhesive to the top and bottom corners of the first half page.

  • Count out five pages (including the one with adhesive) and hold them together like one piece of paper. Fold it to the right WITHOUT creasing and roll the edges back toward the spine, tucking them in.

  • Repeat the process until you have created 10 rolls, using all the half pages.

  • Stand the book up, and add faux florals and greenery as desired.
