In today’s post: This super cute gift idea is customized with the first letter of the recipient’s name – it’s perfect for teenagers! Fill a cardboard letter with all their favorite treats to celebrate birthdays, graduation, or anytime you want to help someone feel special!
Today’s gift idea is the perfect way to celebrate just about anything: birthdays, acing an exam, doing well at a competition, earning student of the month, etc. Who wouldn’t love to receive the first letter of their name filled with all their favorite snacks? This idea works really well for teenagers (they LOVE snacks!) but it’s also a great way to show teachers or coaches how much you appreciate them! It’s easy to put together in just a few minutes.
Supplies
Here’s what you’ll need to make this customized treat gift:
- Cardboard Letter: I found these letters at Hobby Lobby in the charcuterie section for five bucks each. They’re the perfect size for adding treats! If you don’t have a Hobby Lobby near you, there are some options available on Amazon.
- Treats: These letters are only a couple inches wide, so you’ll want smallish snacks and treats to go inside them. Mini soda cans fit well, along with packages of nuts, Hostess Donettes and Ding Dongs, and many candy bars. I found that Dollar Tree was a good source of snacks (like Cheezits, Gummy Worms, and Oreos) in smaller packages than what most grocery stores carry. Be sure to get some items that will fit in the curves of the letter. I ended up using ten treats in this letter, grabbing a few extra is a good idea.
- Double Sided Tape: I used double sided tape to secure the treats inside the letter so they don’t move around. That also allowed me to stand this letter up (not all the cardboard letters will stand, only those that are flat on the bottom). If you don’t plan to stand the letter up, tape is optional.
- Bow: I grabbed a curly ribbon bow at Dollar Tree to finish off the gift.
How to Make a Customized treat Letter
Putting this gift together is so easy! Start by figuring out how the treats you have fit best in the letter. Make sure you have a mix of treats that will fit well in the straight parts of the letter – like donettes and mini sodas – and treats that will fit in the curves – like packages of nuts or other things in bags that can bend. You’ll likely use 10-15 small treats.
Once you have the letter filled and like the position of everything, just pick up one item at a time and add a strip of double sided tape to the back, then place it back down.
Finally, add a bow or tie a ribbon around the letter to make it look like even cuter, and your personalized gift is ready to go!
