In today’s post: 35 delicious camping recipes so you never have to eat hot dogs again!
Ok, I actually like hot dogs. I do. Just not every single time we go camping. But getting everything ready to take the seven people camping is a ton of work – what with sleeping bags and pillows and tents and lanterns and toilet paper etc., – so I can never seem to spare the time to figure out really good camping food. And so we always end up with hot dogs. Again. *sigh*
Because good food is (arguably) the most important part of any family outing, I’ve done what any self respecting mother would do and spent some time trying out all my favorite recipes over a camp stove turned to Pinterest. I’ve found 35 fantastic camping food recipes that all look MUCH better than hot dogs. I can’t wait to try some of these out!
NOTE: As with all roundups, if you’d like to pin an individual photo, please click through to the original source to do so. Feel free to pin the collage photo above or the graphic at the end to remember where to find all these camping recipes in one place. Thanks!

I always make pizza on my pizza stone over the fire using crescent rolls as the dough. I also have make chicken and rice over the fire in my dutch oven. I happen to have an oven that goes over the propane stove and I make muffins in the morning, one morning (to keep the kids busy), I even put fresh kid picked wild raspberries in there. We always eat very well camping. I recently bought a crock pot for the new camper thinking if we went away I could start dinner and not worry about how late it was.

Chicken fajitas! We bring our grill basket and cook the onions and peppers over the campfire so they get a little smokey. We do the chicken with quick cooking tenders on the camp stove and use packaged fajita spice mix. So good.

We used to make the bread sticks out of canned biscuits. Wrap around a stick and hold over the fire til done. Slide the biscuit off the stick and stuff the inside with butter and Peach preserves (or your favorite). Delicious and easy.

Thanks, I’ll definitely be trying some of these. For a delicious desert (or maybe breakfast 😉 try ‘Banana Boats’. Split a banana down the center through the peel, but not through the other side. Fill it with marshmallow and chocolate. Wrap it all up in tin foil and bake in the coals of your camp fire… Open and eat with a fork when hot. Its soo good!
