How to Make Pretzel Christmas Trees
If you’re looking for a simple Christmas activity to do with your kids, try making pretzel Christmas trees! They’re simple enough for even young kids to make. Depending on your kids’ ages, they might need some help piping the melted candy to create the tree shape, but they should be able to set up the pretzels and add the sprinkles all on their own. Fun Christmas activity for kids and grandkids!
Melt the Candy Wafers
Place a handful of green candy wafers into a plastic bag. Microwave for 30 seconds. Squeeze the bag to see if the wafers are completely melted. If not, microwave for 15 more seconds and check again. Once the candy is completely melted, snip a tiny corner off the bag to create a small hole for “piping” the candy.
Pipe and Decorate
Starting at the top where the pretzels touch, pipe out some candy melt. Then working back and forth, pipe the candy across the pretzels creating a Christmas tree shape.
Pipe candy all the way down the tree, leaving about half an inch of the center pretzel stick uncovered to look like a trunk. Sprinkle with small holiday sprinkles and place a star sprinkle at the top of the tree.

Instructions
- Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper. Place two pretzel sticks in an upside down V shape. Place a third pretzel stick in between the first two.
- Place a handful of candy wafers in a small plastic bag. Microwave for 30 seconds, then squeeze the bag to make sure candy is completely melted. If not, microwave for another 15 seconds.
- Snip a tiny corner off the plastic bag so you can "pipe" melted candy through it. Starting at the top where the pretzel sticks touch, pipe some melted candy out. Then start piping candy back and forth across the pretzels to create a tree shape.
- Top each tree with a star sprinkle and add holiday sprinkles to look like ornaments. Repeat with the other pretzels.
- Place cookie sheet in the refrigerator until candy is hardened, about 15 minutes.
