Twinkie Hearts {easy Valentine’s Day treat}

In today’s post: Check out this super easy hack for turning a Twinkie into a heart for Valentine’s Day.

I know, I know. Not many of us actually need more Twinkies in our lives. But we might need a little more fun, or a little more cuteness. Or just something to do with our kids that doesn’t involve convincing them to do something they don’t want to do – like turning off the electronics, or picking up their socks, or STOP PUTTING EMPTY FOOD CONTAINERS BACK IN THE PANTRY FOR HEAVEN’S SAKE!!

Check out lots of fun Valentine’s Day treats here

Prep Time 15 minutes

Ingredients

  • Twinkie Snack Cakes
  • Jelly Hearts
  • Wood Skewers
  • Frosting optional
  • Sprinkles optional

Instructions

  • Unwrap a pair of Twinkies. Slice one diagonally as shown in the photo, from just below the curve on one side to just above the curve on the other side. Slice the other Twinkie diagonally in the opposite direction.
    Two twinkies, cut diagonally from just below the curve on the outside to just above the curve on the inside
  • Match up the two outside Twinkie halves to form a heart (the two inside halves will also form a heart).
    Cut pieces of Twinkie put together to form heart shape
  • Stick a wood skewer through the Twinkie halves to secure them together. Cut the skewer so it extends a few inches on either side of the heart. Use jelly hearts to make the skewer look like an arrow, as shown.
