I made pops! Oreo pops, which are actually easy to make, unlike those infamous cake pops that pretend to be easy and really end up turning your kitchen into a disaster zone and making you feel like a domestic failure. Or maybe that was just me… Anyway, these Christmas tree Oreo pops really are easy to make and fun to decorate with the kids. Big kids can make them all on their own, and little kids can help with dipping and adding sprinkles.
Tied up with a bow, they also make a cute and inexpensive DIY Christmas gift for friends or neighbors.
To make them, you’ll need:
- Double Stuffed Oreos
- sucker sticks
- Vanilla almond bark, white candy melts, or white chocolate chips
- Green candy melts
- Sprinkles
- Star sprinkles
The process is a little different depending on whether you want the Oreo entirely dipped or not. I think they look prettier when they aren’t completely dipped, but it’s nice to have some of each. Here’s how you make the partially dipped ones:
Melt some vanilla almond bark or white candy melts or white chocolate chips in a small bowl. Dip one edge of an Oreo into the white chocolate as shown. Carefully insert a sucker stick into the Oreo, taking care not to break or split the Oreo. (If the Oreo splits apart, just carefully press it back together. As the white chocolate cools it will hold the Oreo together.) Place on wax paper and repeat with your other Oreos.
To decorate, melt some green candy melts in a sandwich bag. Snip off a corner of the bag and “pipe” the green candy melt back and forth to make a Christmas tree shape. It helps to practice on the wax paper a few times to get the shape right. Add multi-colored sprinkles and a star sprinkle right away, before the candy melts set up.
For a completely dipped Oreo, follow these steps:
Carefully split open the Oreos you want to dip. Use a sucker stick to made in indent in the cream of each Oreo. Dip the end of a sucker stick in melted white chocolate and press it into the indent, then place the other cookie on top and gently press together. Repeat with other Oreos. Place all Oreos in the freezer for 5-10 minutes until chocolate has hardened. This “glues” the cookies together so they won’t fall apart when dipping.
Dip Oreos into melted white candy melts or chocolate, covering them completely. Shake off excess, then place on wax paper to harden. Decorate as directed above.
Super cute, right? Perfect for a class party, kids’ friends, or neighbor gifts.
How cute! So, I have a plan. Chocolate covered marshmellows as a filler in a clear plastic cup, three of these sweet little cookie-pops ‘growing’ out of the marshmellows, all wrapped in clear cellophane and tied up with a pretty ribbon. Great for Sunday school class and little neighbors. I’m excited!

Hi, hope this message finds you well. I tried to make the Oreo pops but I was a complete failure. I melted the white chocolate chips but when I tried to dip in the Oreo it looked awful and the chocolate harden really quick and it did not look even on the only Oreo I got to dip in. Did you add anything g to the chocolate to make it more liquid and last.

Your microwave could have been to hot or you could have left the chocolate in to long. Try a double boiler with the water at a slow simmer. You want the water hot but not a rolling boil. Add your chocolate and stir until melted turn burner off and dip your cookies. If your chocolate gets to cool turn the burner on again until you chocolate is liquid again. Be very careful not to get any water in your chocolate or you will have to throw it out and start over. Try using candy melts or almond bark only they are much easier to work with. If you use white chocolate chips you have to add a little oil or shortening to get the liquid state. Hope this helps for the coming year.

i have a question. i have vanilla bark and when i melt it, it was so thick. how can i make it to be thin.
I love the look and thank you for sharing, but melting the green chocolate in a plastic bag is toxic. Please microwave or use a double boiler to melt the green chocolate before putting I into any plastic container❣️
