Happy halfway through September, people! I hope you’re all enjoying (or at least surviving) getting the kids back to school and figuring out who needs picking up up when, etc. Things are good here, except that I really struggle with carpool rage every morning while dropping off my kids at the elementary school. JUST STOP PARKING IN THE DROPOFF LANE, PEOPLE! Seriously, every time I can’t get through to drop off my kids because there are cars parked right under the “no parking” sign I about come unglued. I have to practice my deep breathing and relaxation techniques 😉
Today’s project is my favorite kind: fun and easy enough for kids to do. My 5 year old and I had a great time making these little Halloween pretzel monsters the other day.
We made white ghosts, green monsters (Mike Wazowski!), three-eyed orange blobs, and purple screaming guys (which look a lot like me when I’m stuck in the dropoff lane at school!).
All you need is pretzels, colored candy melts, and candy eyes.
Melt the candy melts in the microwave, stirring after each 30 second interval, until they’re nice and melty and smooth. Here’s a quick video that shows how to make them.
These guys would make a cute treat for a Halloween party, or a fun little Halloween gift the kids could give their friends.
