When I told my kids we were going to give non-candy Valentine’s Day cards to their friends this year they were pretty skeptical. My son informed me kids like candy best and my daughter just frowned. But I knew I could convince them if I could find non-candy options that were sufficiently cool. My son is now pretty pumped about giving mini glider planes to his friends, and my daughter cannot wait to hand out these emoji bracelets to everyone in her class.
Don’t get me wrong, I like candy as much as the next lady (probably more, actually), but my kids get treats at school all. the. time. So we’re switching up our Valentine’s cards this year.
I ordered a pack of 36 emoji bracelets from Amazon for $8 here. It’s a bit more than mini candy bars would cost, but my daughter thinks they’re totally awesome.
You can download the free printable Valentine’s cards by clicking here. Be sure to print them out at 100% or full size, and use cardstock or other sturdy paper. Have your child sign his or her name on each card.
Use a paper trimmer to cut about 1/8 inch outside the lines. That will make the cards just the right size for sliding a bracelet on. NOTE: these bracelets may be a little big for very young kids, although they’ll still like them. They’re the perfect size for older elementary + above.
Secure each bracelet with a piece of tape on the back of the card, and you’re ready to pass them out!
